College Access Support for Organizations and Schools

With a focus on postsecondary planning for historically underrepresented students (including first-gen students; Black, Latinx, and Indigenous students; and students from low-income households), I offer a wide variety of project-based and ongoing support from long-term strategic planning to one-on-one counseling. Together, we can identify a plan to support your students.

College Counseling for Individual Students and Families

For students and families who need support in identifying where to apply, I will work directly with your teen to hone a list of colleges and universities that meets their needs. There are a lot of schools out there — with my support, your child will have a selection of colleges that meet their needs, fit their interests, and provide a wide variety of career opportunities.

About Joanna Rudnick

My passion lies in supporting students and families as they navigate complex life choices and achieve goals in the face of major challenges. I have served as a school leader, counselor, social worker, and teacher, educating students from early childhood through college. For over a decade, I have supported high schoolers in developing postsecondary plans. Notably, I served as Dean of College Counseling at Rowe-Clark Math & Science Academy, a public charter school on Chicago’s West Side, and as Director of Student Affairs for OneGoal. As a consultant, I have worked with the Ron Brown Scholar Program and City of Promise Charlottesville, while continuing to counsel individual students and families.

I received my bachelor’s degree in dance from Northwestern University and my master’s from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.
